Gene expression in primary hemocyte culture of the Pacific white shrimp Penaeus vannamei infected with different white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) strains

چکیده

Five previously analyzed white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) strains from northwest Mexico, differing in their genome architecture as well virulence, were selected (high virulence JP and LG strains; moderate GVE DIV low LC10 strain) to evaluate pathogenesis response vitro. Expression of phagocytosis-activating protein PAP, manganese superoxide dismutase MnSOD peroxiredoxin PRX, two genes immediate-early expression (IE1 WSSV304) measured by qPCR a primary hemocyte cell culture Penaeus vannamei at 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 h post-infection (hpi). PAP was significantly higher 1 3 hpi, induced the highest expression. The high significant increase PRX detected probably due occurrence an oxidative burst; levels respectively, strain virulence), suggesting acute response. In general, most immune-related - decreased after initial hours infection. IE1 WSSV304 exceptionally hpi almost all five WSSV strains, confirming efficient mechanism for replication viral fitness. results this study do not show accurate link between size albeit with smallest showed virulence. All early immune heterogeneous ways.

Immunization of Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp against white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) by gamma-irradiated WSSV plus Vibrio paraheomolyticus

Introduction: White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is one of the most deadly infectious pathogens of the shrimp culture industry. Neither effective vaccines nor efficient treatments are currently available for this disease. Vibrio species are well known dominant bacterial pathogens in the shrimp ponds. As facultative pathogenic bacteria, it is possible that Vibrio spp. along with WSSV to co-infect ...

Effects of dietary astaxanthin on the immune response, resistance to white spot syndrome virus and transcription of antioxidant enzyme genes in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

Three different experiments were conducted to study the effect of dietary astaxanthin on the immune response, resistance to white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and transcription of antioxidant enzyme genes in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Each experiment included one triplicate treatment group (fed with 80 mg/kg astaxanthin supplemented diet) and one triplicate control group (fed with...

Per os infectivity of white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) in white-legged shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and role of peritrophic membrane

As earlier observations on peroral infectivity of WSSV in white-legged shrimp are conflicting, here, a standardized peroral intubation technique was used to examine (i) the role of the physical composition of the viral inoculum and (ii) the barrier function of the PM. In a first experiment, the infectivity of a WSSV stock was compared by determining the SID50 by intramuscular injection, peroral...
